John 18:25 – 27

Peter Denies Twice More

25 Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not!” 26 One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?” 27 Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.”

Our denials of Jesus may not be as blatant as this one from Peter, but we all may have denied Chrsit at some point. I am not judging or casting stones but let’s be honest we are human after all.

How can we deny Him? Have we listened to that off color joke and said nothing? Have we ventured into some place that we should have stopped and asked if it was right? Have we been temped and failed and look back and thought I failed? What about that website that we know is wrong? Most of us have done something like that or maybe you have encountered something much different.

No reason to panic and give up for the things we miss. All we need to do if we have failed in some way is simply ask for forgiveness, forgive ourselves and promise to not do that thing again. That is what repentance is turning form wrong to right. Stick with the new you that you have found in Jesus. Vow to move forward then act.

I mentioned Sunday in my message that when Peter and John met the man the man waiting at the pool begging for money they didn’t have money but they had something much better. But often times we overlook the next few words. Notice Peter did something He reached out his hand in an act of faith. Move forward in faith knowing you are not alone.

God Bless.
