Asbury is a purpose driven church and takes her primary challenges from two passages of scripture.
We are a community of people who are committed to leading people to Jesus and further into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. When you show up, you’ll find a culture of grace and an atmosphere of loving acceptance. Great emphasis on Biblical truth is embraced and Jesus’ love is extended.
Once you arrive you’ll find that our worship is contemporary and casual (jeans are welcome). We believe in a scriptural interpretation which is taught with application living in the world as we see it today. We provide a time for our children to join others in a setting for their age group.
Visiting a new church can be daunting not knowing what to expect. We will greet you with a smile and give you a bulletin that outlines what is happening at Asbury. We would like for you to complete a visitor’s card so we can add you to our contact list. We will also have a gift for you.
Bring your own coffee or get a cup with a complimentary travel cup in the foyer. Coffee is welcome in the sanctuary.
Our services generally last about an hour. Our contemporary music is led by Tim Hubbard with electric guitar, (we are currently looking for a drummer) and worship is centered on Jesus. Our worship consists of a Welcome, Music, a Message, and Prayer. You may give as you leave worship by placing your offering in the baskets at the rear of the church. Guests are not expected to give unless you feel led to do, we’re just glad you’re with us.
Great Commandment: “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)
Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
Asbury Chapel has been in existence for over 172 years. Throughout the years we have attempted to be faithful witnesses to God’s love and the power of His saving grace. We continue to be His servants in order that we might bring His light into the world’s darkness.
