Exodus 20:1 – 17

I am the Lord thy God. Thou shall not have strange gods before Me.

Thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

Remember to keep holy the Lord’s day.

Honor thy father and mother.

Thou shall not kill.

Thou shall not commit adultery.

Thou shall not steal.

Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife.

Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s goods.

“To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice”

Listed is a recap of the Ten Commandments given Moses by God. There are many reasons he gave laws for man to obey but a primary reason is we need guidelines to live. “Manis inherently evil, he will disobey rather than obey. Jesus gives us the desire to obey. All nations have laws; we are the same we have laws. Our rights were given to us by God our privileges are provided by the Constitution.

I say that to say the events in Minneapolis and Portland over the last wo days have been unfortunate. I am not here to debate who is right and who is wrong because people have made their minds up already.

What I going to say we need to understand and obey the laws as there are consequences for our actions. One person is dead, two wounded (I am uncertain about the circumstances in Portland). God instituted laws, Jesus came to fulfill the law.

People will continue to be disobedient, consequences will come, and blame will be doled. We are a nation that should live by the rule of law. Let’s support right and shun the wrong.

God Bless.
