Sunday @ Asbury Chapel

Sunday @ Asbury Chapel

December 21st brings us to the fourth Sunday of Advent. We use these terms often but we fail to explain what they mean. Advent is the Christian season of preparing and then awaiting for Christmas day. The season looks at four words for us to consider while we wait they are: hope, peace, joy, and love while we wait for the day of Jesus’ birth. People celebrate in different way and traditions such as Advent wreaths, calendars, special readings, and music. I remember when the boys were young we had an Advent calendar and it has since been lost.

This Sunday on the fourth Sunday of advent we are draw to the words of the Old Testament prophet Isaiah for hos words in chapter nine. Our title for Sunday is “Did Isaiah Really Mean What He Said In Chapter Nine? If you have been following our Bible studies on Facebook you will see we have been talking about the second coming of Jesus.

If you are not a regular attender of a church let me invite you to join us this Sunday at 9:30 AM. Asbury Chapel is located at 2704 South Highway W in Foley. We are an independent Protestant church and you can find more about us on our website at asburychapel.org. In person worship is really the best way to experience worship but we also stream our service on Facebook at facebook.com/asburychapel.org. We hope you can join us.
