Sunday @ Asbury Chapel

Sunday @ Asbury Chapel

As a follow up to last week’s message about God messing with Satan at Christmas time we are looking this week at the life of “Joseph, – An Obedient Believer.” Joseph faced some difficult decisions in his life but he faced them all with the assurance that God had his back. This week we look to  Luke 1:26 – 35 for the text on Joseph.

Do you attend church? Have you been disappointed in the past with a church experience? Have you just got out of the practice of attending and worshipping? It is easy to do but to serve God we must be intentional. Advent (the coming of Jesus) is a perfect time to begin to attend again. A good way to begin is to start this week.

Asbury Chapel is located at 2704 South Highway W in Foley, MO. We are at the corner of Highways W & Y. Our service begins at 9:30 AM, coffee is at 8:30 and you are welcome to join us for a cup and a donut. Sunday evening we invite you to join in our “Christmas Candlelit” service beginning at 6:00 PM and concluding with a time of fellowship and homemade cookies following the service. If you come as a guest no need to bring cookies just come and meet some of us.

You can find some additional information about Asbury Chapel at asburychapel.org or follow us on Facebook. We post a daily Bible study on both.

Here are the message notes for Sunday December 7th.

“Joseph, An Obedient Believer”

Luke 1:26 – 35

December 7, 2025

A.           When you agree to be obedient there will be difficult decisions to be made.

First of all what was Joseph’s initial response?

                 Psalm 37:23

B.           Even though we are certain God is directing we sometimes delay.

When God directs our actions we should move at that time do not wait

              Balancing the “Who’ & “Why.’

C.           You may make a sudden stop and go in a new direction.

There are several things involved when God calls on us.

So what is the message for us?

D.           God Speaks we listen when we are in tune with Him.

Joseph’s rapid obedience came from nowhere.

               Joseph’s response should challenge us,

E.           Awesome obedience requires awesome faith.

When Joseph did what God asked him, all he had was trust that God would work

                everything out.

There is something unique about obedience
