Sunday @ Asbury Chapel

Sunday @ Asbury Chapel

Tomorrow we look at Colossians 4:2 – 6 sharing about prayer and the blood of Jesus. Many people do not understand the importance what the blood of Jesus means, how it impacts their lives, and what it affords to the Chrsit Follower. Tomorrow we will look at this vital life giving support to the believer.

Asbury Chapel is an independent body of Christ that was a member of a major denomination a few years ago but parted ways. Our beliefs are biblically based with solid theology based on John Wesley. We are growing church community and invite you to join us for worship at 9:30 AM. We offer coffee at  8:30 and a time of fellowship.

Our church is located at 2704 South Highway W in Foley, MO. You can find us on the web at asbutychapel.org and our service is streamed on Facebook. We also have began to post our message notes along with this invitation if you cannot attend in person.

Colossians 4:2 – 6 (NKJV)

November 16, 2025

Joyce Meyer says prayer is misunderstood.

1.       Prayer is not an obligation – it is the greatest privilege we have,

2.       Prayer is not a religious activity – it is a relational conversation,

3.       We do not need to pray for a specified amount of time, in a specific place, using certain words, in a certain tone of voice.

4.       It is okay to set aside certain times of the day to pray,

5.       Pray when you go for a walk, let your mind think about the beauty that surrounds you,

6.       There is nothing off limits to god,

7.       Remember he may tell you to change something – know it is for your good.

There are couple of reasons why we pray:

1.       God hears us and answers us James 5:16 “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

2.       Prayer is our first line of defense against the enemy. here is a verse we spoke of Monday at Bible study from Revelation.

What does the blood of Jesus do for us?

John 2: 2, 2 Cor. 5:21, Luke 22:20

Deliverance and healing

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, (ESV).
