Sunday @ Asbury Chapel
Sunday we continue our look at Paul’s writing to the church at Colossae. As you know Paul wrote much of the New Testament and several epistles from a prison cell. He wrote to this church while imprisoned in Rome.
This week we will be looking again at chapter one verses twenty-seven to twenty-nine. “What Was In the Dark Is Now 0pen To the Light.”
Here are the words of our text. 27 “God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28Wwe proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me.”
What is Paul saying in modern English is this? “This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it is out in the open.”
Asbury Chapel is an independent body of believers who follow the scriptures and our theology is taken from the teachings of John Wesley. We believe the scriptures were given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit to those selected by God to record His Word.
We meet at 9:30 AM and we are located at 2704 South Highway W in Foley, MO. If you have not been attending church for any reason, maybe looking for a church closer to your home, or believe your church may have strayed from the scriptures we invite you to stop in and worship with us, Dress is casual, worship is contemporary, and we are informal.
