Psalm 96:1-6 (ESV)

“Who Is Protecting You”

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”

We just returned from trip to Florida to see some of our family. Our purpose was to celebrate the first birthday of our grandson which was a joyous occasion, not withstanding the usual “smash cake” wearing of blue icing.

God is amazing in our lives. He has given us a wonderful (and extremely cute grandson and parents who love the little guy deeply). I pray for God to protect them as they raise him into and throughout his life.

God’s protection is something we might overlook without giving it much attention. Everything is going great in our lives and we fail tor recognize who our protector is. As we drove to Florida we encountered the usual lane changers who jump one lane to another to get ahead of the next vehicle only to wait in traffic. I often wonder how they escape the Highway Patrol. This as you know is not the only poor driving habit people have. I would like to recommend to someone sometime they go back to their dealership and have turning signals installed on their 1980 Hyundai as an option.

A trip down to Florida and aback and driving down around and we were secure – thanks be to God.

Remember God is our Keeper and Psalm 23 reminds us we walk through the valley of the shadow of death but we are kept safe. It was David’s intention that we walk and do not remain in the valley although sometimes the walk is slower than other times. No matter the situation light comes to the belier just remain calm. Vigilant, and expectant.

God Bless.
