“Antibiotics”

Romans 6:20 -23 (ESV)

“For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

How many of us have taken antibiotics in our lives? As you know antibiotics are medicines that fight bacterial infections in people and animals. They work by killing the bacteria or by making it hard for the bacteria to grow and multiply. They are used for a multitude bacteria. We do not hesitate to take them in order to feel better and heal. Now the question for today.

If we take prescribed medication for our illness why do so many people reject the offer of eternal healing from Jesus? Paul told the Romans in chapter six and he said very plainly “if you sin you will die.” We know we all will die once but we do not have to die a second time. Even the scriptures teach us that when we “die” as believers we are actually “asleep in the Lord.”

The ultimate healing antibiotic for sin is found in Jesus and His life giving answer to problems of society worldwide. If nations sought the healing power of the Gospel message sin could be eradicated and all people could live healthy lives free form the garbage that drags us all down.

I know this works because I was once one of the sick and outside the healing of Jesus. It is no secret we all were in that place in our lives. John3:16 offers the medication  that will free us from the second death. ““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Here we find the prescription that brings about our healing.

All we have to do is ask for it as we ask the doctor for something to help get over a bacterial infection.

God Bless.
