2 Timothy 4:17 – 18 (ESV)
“17 But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever.”
I woke up Sunday morning at one twenty. I guess it’s because of all the things running through my mind for a Sunday. For some reason my spirit was troubled. I do know why. As I was sitting at my desk at church I received two text messages. One from a friend of four years and a prayer from one I have recently met who I consider a good friend.
The first one was a note about studying the message scripture and the second as I said a prayer for strength for the day. My response to the second was simple. “Thanks, I needed that.”
We all go through times when the sun isn’t shining the brightest on us, in fact the moon isn’t even giving forth much light.
There was a lonely feeling yesterday morning. I know one day that loneliness will disappear forever. I need to remind myself that of that. We are never truly alone if we have accepted the gift of salvation. Jesus is there and sometimes I need to remind myself of that truth.
The writer of Hebrews gave us these words “I will never leave you or forsake you.” A good verse to memorize.
“O Thou who changes not, abide with me.” Henry Lyle.
God Bless.
