This Sunday at Asbury Chapel we are going to the Old Testament and look a man by the name of Nehemiah. Nehemiah was the governor of Jerusalem on two separate occasions and led the rebuilding of the walls of the city of Jerusalem that had been torn down and the gates burned.
There are spiritual implications about building walls that we are going to look into with a message titled “Wall Builders” and our scripture teaching is taken from Nehemiah 1:11-3; 2;1-8; 19 – 20; 6:15 – 17. Take some time and read these references before Sunday.
If you can join us we have our worship time at 9:30 at 2704 South Highway W in Foley, MO. 63376. If you cannot attend you will find our service on Facebook at facebook.com/asburychapel.org.
I am adding the Message Notes for Sunday:
“Wall Builders”
Nehemiah 1:11-3; 2;1-8; 19 – 20; 6:15 – 17
Do you build walls in your life? If so, Why?
A. Uneasiness
Are we willing to give up our desires, wants, disagreements for the good of our family and our church?
B. Owning Up
Notice that Nehemiah, who had never been personally guilty of following other gods, linked himself to the sins of the nation (1:6).
C. Collision
For many people it is difficult to stay inside the walls and fight the fight. it is easier to see a slight crack in the door and run. God is looking for people who are willing to stick it out when not every decision is the decision they would make.
D. Creating
The whole wall was built all at once. Building activity was going on all around the city at the same time. the same must be true in spiritual wall-building.
