Psalm 68:19 – 20 (NASB)

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. 20 God is to us a God of deliverances; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death.

I remember during my military days of carrying a backpack full of equipment that was needed. Those backpacks were heavy and even the duffel bags were heavier as I remember.

Marching and carrying it was sometimes burdensome and the breaks along the way and the opportunity to get the pack off your back was most refreshing. Of course, then we had to pick it up and put it back on the burden then came back.

We all carry the burden of sin none of us are immune to sin. When Jesus forgives us of our sin the burden should be gone but many of us have guilt associated with what had happened in our past. We need to learn to forgive ourselves as Christ has forgiven us.

There are things that come into our minds. I get those thoughts and I know it is most likely unforgiveness that is there. When I sense this from the Holy Spirit I simply say “I forgive __________. If something else comes up I do it again. It is an act of Satan to get us down and miserable but that burden can be lifted by asking God to lift it from our shoulders.

“Commit to God whatever burden has been placed on you.” Oswald Chambers.

God Bless.
