John 13:34 – 35

34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Volumes have been written about love yet hate abounds all around us. As a believer there is no discrepancy about our need to love. The world along with some believers is filled with those who hate.

Not that long ago Russia invaded Ukraine, Hamas killed one thousand one hundred eighty nine people in Israel and capturing others. You do not do this out of love it is born from Satan and is truly hate for your fellow man.

“What the world needs now is love” has never been any more prevalent than it is now. We are in the midst of an election for the highest office in our nation and much of what we hear is certainly less than love and concern for the opposition. Pray for these people.

It’s not only nations, or politicians who dislike and hate each other. In many cases it is within our own family, in our communities and neighborhoods. Love begins with us a believers praying for those who do not love as Jesus set the example.

Jesus taught us that one way to show the world who we are and our love for him is through loving others. Love is horizontal; it is not completely vertical. We can’t stand and say we love God (a vertical relationship) and hate our neighbor (the horizontal relationship).

Commit your concerns to the Lord in prayer and allow the powerful love of Jesus to show you to love more deeply for those whom you need to love.

“Love means to love that which is unlovable; or it is no virtue at all.” G. K. Chesterton.

God Bless.
