Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)

11 “Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

We face spiritual battles and will continue to do so until we die. So how do we overcome what befalls us on a daily basis?

First, we find a scripture that addresses the problem we have. As an example we might have a short temper or as some say, “a short fuse.” Colossians 3:8 says, “But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.” Anger is a result of emotions.

Read the verse daily, memorize the verse that will get you delivered from the issue at hand, make a decision that you are going to free from it, pray about it, follow the direction that we receive both through prayer and studying the scriptures. This counsel will prove infallible in your quest for freedom.

Remember when Jesus was tempted He used scripture to defeat His enemy the devil and we face the same enemy. There is no better example than Jesus as we face the situations in  life that “so easily beset us.”

The Bible is alive, it speaks to me; it has feet, it runs after me; it has hands, it lays hold on me.” Martin Luther.

God Bless.
