Colossians 4:1-6

1 “Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. 2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. 5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

How much scripture do you know, how much have you memorized? Does scripture saturate your thoughts, consume your thinking at times? I know with the recent events going on around the world my mind is drawn to the end time scriptures. I saw a question posed this past week asking “Who do you think will be the Antichrist? There were a myriad of answers posted. How do we answer such a question without some knowledge of scripture?

Memorizing scripture allows us to have a verse to hit back at Satan when he comes against us. We can use the scriptures just as Jesus our example did when he was confronted by Satan in the desert.

Salt used wisely brings out the best taste in food but you can use too much or too little, we need the proper amount. Test your words before you speak that God may help us salt our conversation before we harm someone.

“Broadly speaking short words are best and old words when short, best of all.” Winston Churchill.

God Bless.
