Jeremiah 2:13 (NASB)

“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That can hold no water.”

I remember growing up and visiting my grandmother who was known to me as “Grannie.” She was the best. She lived in a two room house with a big screened in porch on the back. She got her water out of a well in her backyard. I remember going mushroom hunting with her and there was this spring on her property that flowed with freshest cool water you could ever desire.

That spring would have been of no benefit if I ignored it I would have missed the joy of its cool refreshing water. We do that believers we often miss the cool waters of the Lord that brings refreshment because our minds are not focused on Him.

Grannie could have captured that water if she wanted to but she knew it would always be there. Jesus said “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I give him will never thirst again. The water I give him shall become like a fountain springing up to eternal life.

If you have not experienced the promise of eternal life today is the day to ask God to give you the water that will you to never thirst again. Do not put it off.

“I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life-giving stream; my thirst, was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.” Horatius Bonar.

God Bless.
