Romans 12:1 – 2
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
It’s easy to be conformed to this world and it takes more than determination to avoid the pitfalls that beset people. How do you go about it? The best way to change your mind is to change your mentality.
Jeremiah 15:16 says, “Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart.” God will provide the guidance we need to move forward and be transformed. Our mind is the key to renewal.
Our bodies often fall victim to poor eating habits, weight gain is the result, maybe obesity, heart issues, blood pressure spikes many things can happen if we do not care for ourselves as we should.
Our minds need spiritual support as well as our bodies. It is easy to avoid allowing some things to come into our minds because we avoid them. Other times thoughts come into our minds and we wonder where that thought came from. When this happens we need to cut it – renew our minds with thoughts that are positive, constructive, ordered by the Holy Spirit.
Paul said think on these things “whatever is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.” (Phil. 4:8).
God Bless.
