Matthew 16:21-22 (NLT)
“From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead.
22 But Peter took him aside and began to reprimand him for saying such things. “Heaven forbid, Lord,” he said. “This will never happen to you!”
Jesus while on earth was surrounded by His disciples upon selecting them we see them throughout the New Testament. He spent time with them talking to them, teaching them, discipling them, and showing them who He was. He wanted them to get to know who He really was and the power He operated under.
As we read the scriptures we see Jesus was a busy man and He kept the disciples busy but he also had the “quiet time” He could spend with them. We need that quiet time in our lies as they did. With all that is going on around us we need to get away from the hustle and the bustle of everyday activity and spend time alone.
Try getting away from the television, sit down with your spouse, your children and find out what is really going on in their lives. This needs to be an intentional time for all of us. It will make us better partners in their lives. Men take the leadership opportunity in your family and spend time alone with those you love.
I think once we do this intentionally we will find valuable time and something that we will remember throughout our lives. It is building memories with those we love.
No better time that today to start.
God Bless.
