John 20:26 – 29 (ESV)

26 “Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

In this life we have troubles it is a simple fact. No matter who we are issues arise that we must deal with. Family, business, relationships, church almost everything at some point has a trial we must deal with.

Thomas often referred to as “Doubting Thomas” had one of those moments in his life. His faith did not allow him to believe something without seeing it. We sometimes express similar doubt.

Thomas was not always doubting. Remember the words of Thomas when Jesus was heading back to grave of Lazarus. “let’s go, too and die with Jesus.” Thomas was willing to stand with Jesus when He was alive but doubted He was risen. He wouldn’t take the other disciples’ word for it.

Jesus didn’t criticize Thomas for what he was told by the others He simply said, “Put your finger here.” Maybe you haven’t been in Thomas’ shoes for a while and experienced doubt. Maybe it has been recently. If we doubt on a regular basis it can be devastating and we may lose hope. That is the goal of Satan to make you doubt. But Jesus told us to “stay strong.”

Jesus simply said to Thomas “put your finger here.” Sometimes we must do as Jesus spoke to Thomas and regain our faith. Practice living doubt-free.

Jesus is waiting to help you cast doubt away.

God Bless.
