John 15:16 (ESV)

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”

I imagine many predestination believers use this verse to support their position on that doctrine, I’m not going there at this time.

But the one thing we can know for certain is that God has it all under control. I can go about my daily activities assured all is in His hands. That is comforting. We are called by Christ to make disciples but we are also called to sow seed, water the seed, fertilize the seed, till the seed and low and behold someone else does the harvesting. It’s all in His plan we do not pick and choose what we want to do we are saved to produce good fruit.

What is amazing is that God chose us, He chose everyone but not everyone chooses Him. Make the most of our opportunities to serve wherever and whenever we can. Trust God, be guided by His word to walk through any opening or opportunity that He presents for us.

It is God’s word that is producing fruit through the Spirit it’s not our efforts. We are the voice to lead but He is doing the background work. Be open, be humble knowing that He will lead you to carry on the task before us.

God Bless.
