Matthew 6:19-20 (ESV)
““Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[a] destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
Life is a precious commodity in this world. We have all lost loved ones that we wish we could share a few minutes with and have some good fellowship. Many of us have lost children. I have experienced the losses and so have you.
I remember a home full of toys for one little boy it seemed as though everyone was giving him something to play with. But above the toys we ask what is our influence on our children? I look back and think I would have done this or that different but I do not beat myself up over it either, the past has past. He’s gone I cannot do anything now but if we have children we can make a difference.
There is nothing more important in this life than our children and spending time with them. We do not like the missed opportunities so we must make the best of the present time.
Spend time with your spouse, your children when they do not expect it, that is when it is most valuable to them. We all have things going on in our lives but we should keep in mind what is really important.
God Bless.
