Bible Study July 13

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 (NLT).

The believer (Christ Follower) who is united in faith to Christ in his death, has died the old life and now is risen to mew life in Christ.

What do we do with that new life? There is a substitutionary life of Christ which is key to a victorious life in Christ. We are now followers and we live in victory. Our identity is now in Christ we are no longer living in our identity. Peter placed racial identity above his identity in Christ as we read in these verses prior to verse twenty. We find our true identity in Christ.

The kingdom identity in Christ puts our racial identity in proper place says Tony Evans. The cross is not merely a historical event; it affects contemporary life, as well as social and racial relationships.
